Infill extension to a detached house in a conservation area in St Albans

Lees Architects added a small infill extension to a detached house in a conservation area in St Albans. The original layout created a narrow and inconvenient hallway to the kitchen which didn’t provide the client with an open plan entertaining space for the family. By adding a small extension, relocating the kitchen and re-configuring the rooms internally, we were able to provide a combined kitchen and dining area with a separate tv/snug room and utility area. Crittal features were chosen to best reflect the existing windows and give the property a modern but considerate look.
