Extremely strong gesture of geometry

Set in one of the most prestigious roads of Mill Hill, the diverse style of architecture along the road allowed for the creation of a unique style of house which utilises and celebrates 21st architecture. The unusual wedge shape of the site inspired the design which consists of two 3000sq ft houses. The site generated a theme for each of the houses geometry which combines two pitched roofs which meet at the rear, providing both a unique front and rear elevation, not seen in the road before. The client specified using high quality materials which enhance the architecture and respond to the natural features of the site. High quality timber and slate were selected to represent this natural feel. The contrast with the white render of the main walls frames these attractive materials creating an extremely strong gesture of geometry and materiality. We recently received planning permission for the two houses in Autumn 2015.
